Lore
Nearly 10,000 years ago, the first civilizations emerged upon the ancient world of Activum. The mists of time have obscured much of their story, yet whispers of two great powers endure: Bovillia and Marlios. Rivals by blood, but bound in an uneasy alliance, united by their unmatched mastery of knowledge and technology.
For millennia, these civilizations thrived. But after five thousand years, calamity struck. A devastating plague swept across the world, silencing entire nations and erasing their wonders from history. Only small, remote enclaves endured, scattered far from the heartlands of civilization. From the ashes of despair, they declared a new era, marking the year 0 of a reborn world.

The ages that followed were golden. Civilizations rose and fell, yet their wisdom was never lost. Through trade, diplomacy, and war, knowledge was passed from one generation to the next. Some of these ancient peoples endure even now, names such as Midri and Etherion echoing through the ages.
But in the year 3,451, catastrophe struck once more. A colossal volcanic eruption darkened the skies, shrouding Activum in ash and fire. Entire empires collapsed beneath the weight of famine and chaos. Only a handful of civilizations survived, clinging to the fragile remnants of their world.

More than a century later, in 3,593, hope returned. The survivors rebuilt, though the face of Activum had been utterly transformed. Continents were torn apart, landscapes unrecognizable. To mark their rebirth, the peoples of the world bestowed upon it a new name: Zenithum.
Zenithum, too, would see centuries of glory. Realms flourished, alliances were forged, and once again the great cycle of rise and fall continued. But destiny is cruel, and in the year 5,664, the world trembled once more. An immense undersea quake forced a colossal tidal wave, its fury so vast that even whole continents were swept away.

When the waters finally receded, only fragments of civilization remained. Yet the spirit of survival endured. Those who lived mourned the dead, but they also understood: as their ancestors had endured plague and fire, so too would they overcome the sea’s wrath. They gathered together, swearing to build anew.
And thus a new age dawned upon a reborn world carved from endless trials, a world where Realms once more rise from ruin, and where the echoes of ancient civilizations still linger in stone, song, and memory. A world that had endured plague, fire, and flood now stood unbroken, reborn under a single name:
Sanctum
